Loudspeaker manufacturer PMC has appointed Ian Sutton to the position of divisional director, after 13 years at Bowers & Wilkins as UK sales manager.
He will head up a newly-formed UK distribution business, focusing on expansion and development, while based at the company’s head office in Holme Court near Biggleswade.
Sutton said: “I have long admired PMC as a brand and as a company that’s not afraid to challenge the norm. The opportunity to manage the process of creating a new audio distribution business within the UK is one I am relishing, with a team so well respected throughout the country, who I know will make a real success of the new venture.”
PMC, which holds UK distribution rights for Canadian electronics brand Bryston, is expanding its business in its home market to facilitate further distribution arrangements covering pro audio and HiFi products. Each of these product ranges, plus the UK loudspeaker sales, will be incorporated into the new UK distribution business, operating as a separate profit centre from the PMC manufacturing business.
Sutton will report directly to PMC’s owner and managing director, Peter Thomas, and will in turn have management responsibilities for the UK sales team.
Thomas said: “I am delighted that Ian has agreed to join us to help steer the new UK distribution business. I look forward very much to working closely with Ian over the coming months and years as PMC enters this next chapter of its development.”
