The Gus Dudgeon Foundation and JAMES have confirmed that their Post Graduate Summer Course will take place on 1 July at the Gus Dudgeon MCI Studio Suite based at The ATRiuM Campus of University of South Wales in Cardiff. Now in its 3rd year, the course will be tutored by producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Melanie C) who will guide 12 top-graduating students from JAMES accredited music technology and production courses through five days of recording on both analogue and digital systems. "It is a great pleasure to be working with the students at this year’s Gus Dudgeon Foundation and JAMES Summer Course. Gus was a massive influence to many of us working in the industry. I hope to be able to pass on my experiences of the recording process to a new generation of producers and engineers,” said Haver. Funding for this opportunity has been met by the Foundation and JAMES sponsors who so far include Sonic Distribution, Focusrite, AVID, PMI Audio and Source Distribution. Caleb Hill, marketing manager for Sonic Distribution commented, “We are proud to be sponsoring the Gus Dudgeon Foundation/JAMES Summer Course again this year, last years students were immensely talented and we are glad to be supporting the education system and aspiring engineers and producers.” Howard Jones, Source Distribution director added, “At Source we’re always keen to get involved with projects that help nurture the next generation of recording engineers, so we had no hesitation at all in sponsoring this year’s Gus Dudgeon Foundation/JAMES Summer Course.” www.jamesonline.org.ukwww.gusdudgeon.com
