The South African company is the latest addition to a global network of event technology service providers that encompasses 29 companies in 25 different countries.
The brainchild of Swiss company Habegger AG, the AV Alliance is joined by new companies on the basis that they fulfil a comprehensive catalogue of criteria. All members are independently-managed and are among the leading providers within their respective region. Each rents out AV and lighting equipment, with many also supplying rigging and event IT services.
Immaginiaudio (Italy), Audio Visual Dynamics (Australia) and Powerhouse (Malta) are among the companies to have joined the AV Alliance in the last few months alone.
Within the alliance, Gearhouse will serve the market in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.
Explaining the decision to join the network, Gearhouse joint managing director Ofer Lapid (pictured) told PSNE: “We believe that our involvement with the international network will increase our ability to supply and source services for our clients. In turn, we will be able to refer regional business to the Alliance when our own clients are working abroad. We are extremely honoured to be chosen as the South African representative and to be associated with fellow suppliers of a very high calibre. We aspire to participate and provide services within the alliance and to contribute the experience gained through this interaction to the African continent and beyond.”
