GERMANY: Franz-Josef Menke joined the EVI team last month, reports David Davies. In the role of sales manager microphones EMEA, Menke - who has been active in the pro-audio for many years - will be responsible for the marketing of Electro-Voice microphones, as well as expanding and optimising the distribution network in tandem with the marketing division and sales force. Speaking to PSN-e, Menke reveals that there will be a new EV product line at PLASA.

"In Franz-Josef Menke we have found the perfect man for the job," stated Robert Hesse, vice-president sales EMEA. "We are focusing maximum energy on Electro-Voice microphones as part of our growth strategy, and I'm confident that we will see the fruits of our efforts very soon."

For his part, Menke says that he is looking forward to placing a renewed emphasis on EV mics. "I think that, in the pro-audio industry, EV microphones are under-evaluated," he said. "With my new responsibilities and the overall approach when it comes to microphones, that will change."

While he is unable to disclose any specific details at present, Menke said that "a complete new product line" from EV is on course to be unveiled at the PLASA Show.
