Save the date: Thursday 25 September sees the return of the Pro Sound Awards, following last year’s triumphant inaugural outing. And this year, we’re making it bigger and better in a number of ways. We’ll be celebrating the roar of the greasepaint and the smell of the crowd with the Best Theatre Sound gong, plus the achievements of the sound-to-picture world with Best Sound (Post-Production).
Ahead of the main event, we’ll be hosting ‘The Pre-Roll’ – two hours of conversation and panel discussion with leading lights of the industry. This will segue gently into the welcome drinks and then on into the awards ceremony itself. We’ve tweaked things a little and added the two categories above: that makes 17 awards in total, including the Grand Prix and Lifetime Achievement, which will be decided by the editors of the Intent Media music and technology titles.
As for the other awards, you, the readers of PSNEurope, will be invited to lobby us with your suggestions and ideas. The lobbying period starts on 15 April – it will be announced in next week’s newsletter – so watch out for that, and start thinking about who you are going to pitch for.
Did we mention the Ministry of Sound? Yes, we’ve secured the venue once more (never fear, we noted some of the comments we received about last year’s event being a little too loud in places). The place has just been refurbished too…
Plenty more details to follow in the next weeks and months. But you’ve got to be in to win, don’t forget!
