Double dose of MPG events scheduled for July

The Music Producers Guild is hosting nearly back-to-back social events next month, with a Speakeasy social function and the ever popular Q-Time event schedule for 5 and 8 July respectively.

The next of the Music Producers Guild’s popular Speakeasy social events will be taking place on Friday, 5 July from 7pm at the Loft Lounge of The Hospital Club in London. The event is a chance for all producers, engineers and their friends and associates to socialise, exchange stories, problems and ideas. Although being held at a members club, the event is free. MPG members wishing to attend must reserve their place on the guestlist by clicking on the green “Book Now” button on the events page (http://www.mpg.org.uk/events/247) by 2pm on the day. Shortly after the Speakeasy, the MPG will be hosting another Q-Time event, also at The Hospital Club, on 8 July. It will be chaired by BBC 6 Music presenter and multiple hit songwriter, Tom Robinson, and the panel will feature successful record producer Jimmy Hogarth (Duffy, James Blunt, Amy Winehouse), MD of Fiction/Universal, Jim Chancellor, musician/producer Steve Lawson, producer/engineer Dennis Weinreich, and CEO of The Featured Artists Coalition and Marillion keyboard player Mark Kelly. Since it’s first iteration in October, Q-Time panels have featured contributions from Martin Mills, Alison Wenham, Jake Gosling, Saul Galpern, Tommy D, Jo Dipple, Helienne Lindvall, Ben Mandelson and Spotify’s Will Page. Questions to the panel can be submitted via email at: mpg_q-time@mpg.org.ukwww.mpg.org.uk
