Digital Village website nominated for two e-commerce awards

UK: The nominations acknowledge DV247's popularity as an online provider of MI and pro-audio equipment, reports David Davies. At the IMRG's e-Commerce Awards for Excellence 2009, DV247 is in contention in the category of Cross Border e-Retail Innovation, while Retail Systems magazine's 2009 Retail Systems Awards event has bestowed a nomination for SME Retailer of the Year.

UK: The nominations acknowledge DV247's popularity as an online provider of MI and pro-audio equipment, reports David Davies. At the IMRG's e-Commerce Awards for Excellence 2009, DV247 is in contention in the category of Cross Border e-Retail Innovation, while Retail Systems magazine's 2009 Retail Systems Awards event has bestowed a nomination for SME Retailer of the Year.

The results at both awards events are scheduled to be revealed before the end of this month.

Digital Village MD Paul Dennis tells PSN-e: "We have some very exciting plans for the future relating to DV247.com, all of which are currently in a development phase. It's particularly encouraging for us to have been recognised in this way for our current website when we know that there is so much more to come."

Gottelier Award open for nominations

UK: PLASA is seeking nominations for the second Gottelier Award, writes David Davies. Established in memory of late lighting designer Tony Gottelier, the award - won in its inaugural year by Funktion One's Tony Andrews - aims to recognise product developers who have made a boundary-pushing contribution to the development of entertainment technology. PLASA has also announced that 95% of exhibition space for this year's Earls Court gathering is now sold out, in line with the organisation's expectations.

MPG Awards 2010: nominations now open

UK: PPL has joined Prism Sound and SADiE as headline sponsor of next year's trophy-giving event, writes David Davies. Following a highly successful first edition earlier this year (read PSN-e's coverage here), the Music Producers Guild (UK) Awards 2010 will take place at London's Caf_ de Paris on February 11.

UK: Focusrite Audio Engineering and the PMI Audio Group will each sponsor one award category, reports David Davies. The news follows on from the announcement that PPL and SADiE will serve as headline sponsors of the 2010 MPG (UK) Awards.
