Loudspeaker manufacturer d&b audiotechnik has appointed Amnon Harman as CEO.
In the newly created position, Harman (pictured) will “drive the continued success of the German premium provider, taking responsibility for the further development and implementation of the company strategy”.
Prior to joining d&b, Harman was an independent consultant. From 2006 to 2012 he served as chairman of the management board of Augusta Technologie, an international technology company focussed on niche markets for optical sensor technology and digital image processing. Previously, he was a member of the management board and COO at SUSE Linux, where he took over the position of vice-president and COO for EMEA region after its sale to Novell.
Harman holds degrees in industrial engineering and aeronautical engineering, both from Munich University of Applied Sciences.
“d&b has an admirable reputation in the market for professional sound reinforcement systems, and is uniquely positioned to benefit from the growing requirements for cutting-edge technology at concerts and large events,” comments Harman. “The product portfolio has been continuously expanded in recent years and, combined with the founding of subsidiaries in Europe, the US and Japan, has paved the way for the internationalisation of the company.
“I look forward to being a part of this development, supporting the growth strategy and contributing to the further success of the company.”
In other d&b news, the company has that announced its sales partner, Wigwam Acoustics, will hold a ‘d&b remote network and ArrayCalc workshop’ on 12–13 August at SSE’s head office in Redditch, UK.
“The d&b remote network workshop is a step-by-step, hands-on introduction to the d&b control software,” explains the company. “The d&b ArrayCalc workshop covers the basics of line array theory and explores the ArrayCalc simulation software for system planning.
“To gain maximum benefit, participants should have a good basic knowledge of the D6 and D12 amplifiers and be experienced with d&b sound system setup and management. Attendees are required to bring their own laptops.”
