Film/TV composer, sound designer and independent music producer Elliot Simons (pictured) has created a new website featuring his music cues and compositions.

The new site offers visitors free music tracks, discounts and other free downloads as well as the ‘Elliot Simons Newsletter’.

Simons’ production cues are used on Playstation and iPad games, including Gemstone Dragon, Pharaoh’s Quest, Jewel Master, Run Ghost Run and Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. He has also undertaken sound design and composed music for the BBC’s Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventures audio drama releases (under his given name of Simon Power), and produced commercial music for Sainsbury’s and Gaviscon, among many others.

“As more and more people were using my music in a variety of ways I thought it was about time to offer easy access to my catalogue,” says Simons. “And to celebrate the launch, I’m giving away a number of free downloads – just as a way of saying ‘welcome to the site’.”

Music can be licensed for a range of usages and was recently heard on Top Ten YouTube phenomenon The Chronicles of Rick Roll. “It was great to hear my track The Secret Path used in the opening sequence.”

Another track, Celtic Requiem – recorded back in 2005 – has also received a new lease of life through YouTube exposure. “It made its way onto lots of download sites and then it suddenly took off,” he says. “I love the way it was used in the climax of the film The Machine Stops. Really quite chilling, even for me – and I produced it!”
