The new site aims to encourage industry education and the sharing of information between those in the audio world. Accessible via the first link below, the community website includes video- and image-sharing blogs from the Calrec team and other industry experts, Twitter feeds, links to social media and RSS feeds. Visitors are encouraged to provide content which Calrec can publish and distribute.

The community blogs and posts will focus on subjects that are pivotal to the audio community, including 5.1, loudness and networking. Among other features, Calrec’s “…in 60 Seconds” blog is a weekly educational post intended to demystify aspects of audio theory.

In a parallel development, Calrec has also announced an updated version of its corporate site (second link below).

“The corporate site has additional content, but we are particularly excited about our new community site,” said Calrec Audio marketing manager Kevin Emmott. “It is not intended for promotion, but to serve as a trusted community forum for relevant and even entertaining information about audio technology.

“We have already had great responses from visitors about the useful and thought-provoking content to be found there. Future plans include more rich content, and in time the introduction of a forum to encourage customer feedback which we can feed into R&D development.”
