The UK-designed, developed and manufactured compact console – which looks set to herald a new era for Cadac – will begin to reach dealers and distributors in the first week of next month.
The first-ever development by Cadac in the affordable console market, the LIVE1 incorporates the company’s renowned analogue engineering heritage within a lightweight, compact, affordable design.
Available in 16, 24 and 32 channel frame sizes, the LIVE1 can handle FOH, monitor and sub-mixing applications in small clubs and theatres, local hire companies, small to medium size touring productions, event productions, A/V presentations, and houses of worship.
The desk – which can fulfil a wide range of recording applications – includes a new microphone preamplifier design along with the proprietary Cadac 4-band EQ and individual phantom power, PFL and Mute (AFL mode set from master section), 100mm faders with signal-present and overload indicators, six Auxiliaries (switchable pre/post in pairs), 60mm Aux Master faders and four sub-groups on the input channels.
All frame sizes feature four stereo inputs as standard and six returns (four with sends to aux 5/6), as well as two returns on 100mm faders, with sends to subgroups and aux 5/6. The Master Output section features dual outputs and talkback section.
Cadac director of sales Bob Thomas (pictured above, left, with Patrick Almond, marketing manager Soundking Group Europe, which is part of the same group that owns Cadac) commented: “Cadac has always been a premium performance product, designed for applications and customers for whom sound quality, performance and reliability came before budget. With LIVE1 we have achieved the truly remarkable, a Cadac desk for the wider professional market. Not only that, we have done it here in the UK – design, development and manufacturing.”
Patrick Almond added: “LIVE1 gives Cadac a unique product with which to enter the compact console market. One that not only comes with all of the heritage and reputation of the Cadac brand but also, thanks to the way we have exploited the most up-to-date design and manufacturing techniques, one that delivers the Cadac sound performance. We have come to this market with a Cadac, and there is no equivalent to a Cadac.”
