Formula One driver Bruno Senna – nephew of the late, legendary Ayrton Senna – is installing a pair of PMC AML2 active monitors in his Monaco-based project studio.

Senna – who regularly remixes and produces house and trance music – visited the PMC factory to collect the AML2s while on his way to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.

A long-time user of PMC TB2S-A Mark II units, Senna wanted to bring some monitors with ‘even more detail and bass extension’ to his set-up. After consultation with PMC owner/chief designer Peter Thomas, he opted to press ahead with the purchase of a pair of AML2s.

Informed by the design of the AML1 compact active monitor, the AML2s incorporated newly introduced micro-engineered EQ tilt circuitry, enhanced power supply layouts, a revised cabinet structure with additional damping, and subtly revised cosmetics.

“How do you get a big monitor sound like that from such small speakers? These are the best nearfield monitors I’ve heard,” said Senna.
