Valerie Tyler and Jim McTigue are co-chairing the AES Convention Committee for this autumn’s US event in San Francisco. To be held at the Moscone Center from 4-7 November, AES 129 will feature an underlying theme of ‘Bridge to the Future’, with more details of the exhibition and convention programme to be released in the near-future.

Both Tyler (pictured) and McTigue have participated in many AES-related events over the years. An experienced audio editor and freelance live sound engineer, Tyler currently holds the position of webmaster at the College of San Mateo. McTigue, meanwhile, has more than 35 years of experience in the acoustic, broadcast and pro-audio fields, and has previously worked for Altec Lansing, API, Euphonix and Sigma Sound Studios. He currently heads his own firm, Impulsive Audio Consulting.

AES executive director Roger Furness commented: “Their combination of inter-personal leadership skills and in-depth familiarity with established and emerging technology trends make Valerie Tyler and Jim McTigue particularly valuable Co-Convention Chairs. We are all looking forward to a memorable convention experience.”
