Big week for DiGiCo at Prolight + Sound

DiGiCo celebrates 10th year anniversary, launches the new SD5, debuts the UB MADI in Europe, and supercharges customer consoles at PL+S this year.

It was a big year for DiGiCo at Prolight + Sound this year. To start, the company celebrated its 10th year anniversary as DiGiCo (and 40 years since its original incarnation as Soundtracs). The SD5 sits between the SD7 and SD10 and although it effectively replaces the D5, outstanding orders will still be fulfilled. “We’ve evolved a lot over the past decade, both in terms of the way we use the available technology and our understanding of what our customers really want and need,” said DiGiCo’s managing director, James Gordon. “SD5 is the culmination of that combined knowledge, so we want to make it the next generation D5 Live.” In addition to launching the SD5, DiGiCo announced it will “supercharge” all SD consoles free of charge (for a limited time) for existing customers. A new software suite will be made available, which will not only provide expanded channel counts and new effects but gives SD consoles super-charged new names: SD11i (for injection), SD9 Supercharged, SD8 OverDrive2, SD10 Nitrous, and the SD7 Mach 3. In a final piece of news, DiGiCo began fulfilling orders for the UB MADI – the company’s MADI to USB connector originally launched at NAMM 2012, which made its European debut at Prolight + Sound.



DiGiCo reclaims number 5

A decade after the launch of the D5 Live, DiGiCo launches its new incarnation, the SD5. The new addition fits directly into the D5’s shoes, but benefits from the advancements made possible by DiGiCo’s proprietary Stealth Digital Processing.


DiGiCo boosted with £50m investment

Five years after an expansion drive supported by Matrix Equity Partners, DiGiCo has initiated the next stage of its development by securing secondary investment of nearly £50 million from ISIS Equity Partners.
