Barry Revels and Craig Lovell, directors of British manufacturer 4HM, have made a significant investment in Bel Digital Audio, resulting in the formation of the Bel Digital Group holding company.
The new holding company will also include 4HM, which specialises in MADI-related equipment for broadcast, live and production environments, allowing the merging of the Bel and 4HM brands.
“The Bel and 4HM brands are known and respected throughout the world, and it’s a privilege to be in a position to combine these British brands under the new Bel Digital Group,” says Lovell. “The formation of the Bel Digital Group enables us to enhance the Bel brand further with an ever-increasing range of audio products, including [its] existing MADI and forthcoming audio-over-IP units. This means that we are in a position to offer a significant and expanding portfolio to our channel partners and our end customers.”
The new company says the partnership “results in a significant expansion of non-overlapping, yet highly complementary, products, and will deliver the associated benefits to product development from significant investment in R&D and the adoption of new technologies”.
“It’s exciting to bring these two product lines together as one,” Revels adds. “We can now provide both companies’ customers with a truly comprehensive offering.”
Bel Digital introduced a loudness monitoring option “to the latest standards” on all eight variants of its 1U and 2U sixteen channel HD monitors/de-embedders at IBC2014 (pictured), while 4HM announced significant updates to its MADI-AES converter and MADI monitor units.
4HM in March announced its intention to position itself in the wider pro audio industry, with Lovell stating that the company is “widening [its] appeal so that [it is] equally applicable in whatever environment MADI is found – whether it is broadcast, live sound or […] installed sound”.
