Events will be held across France during 2011, with the initial two-day sessions set to take place in Bordeaux (1-2 Mar) and Rennes (9-10 Mar).

Each workshop lasts a full day and will be held twice in each venue. Details of further events to be held this year will be announced in due course.

Combining presentations and practical demos, the sessions are geared towards those who are already using, or are likely to use, APG and Audio-Technica equipment in a professional capacity.

Audio-Technica’s European regulatory specialist for wireless products, Dre Klaassen, will begin the day with a discussion of the wireless frequency sell-off in Europe and the implications for professional users’ businesses (Klaassen recently spoke to PSNE for a feature on this very subject: http://www.prosoundnewseurope.com/main-content/full/pmse-clarity-grows-but-spectrum-war-continues). Subsequently, APG’s Gregory Dapsanse will take over with a presentation of APG’s Uniline array system followed by a practical demonstration from APG product manager Mathieu Delquignies. There will be two further practical demos hosted by independent sound engineer Charles de Schutter on how to optimise signal capture and distribution in the case of a singer with a guitar and also for a drum kit. The final seminar presented by Mathieu Delquignies will be on coaxial stage monitors and will address issues such as how to manage feedback, diffraction phenomena, coupling and power output.

“Training and education are key elements to the success of any brand, and APG is no exception,” observed APG’s Gregory Dapsanse. “In fact, we have made it a policy to involve our users in our product development process for many years. As our products have become more refined, both technically and from a business point of view we wanted to find a means to present them in a way that was both interactive to allow an exchange of views, and at the same time, as close to a genuinely live situation as possible. I am therefore delighted to be teaming up with Audio-Technica, a highly respected brand whose products are entirely complementary to our own, to offer these workshops across France. We hope they will be both interesting and informative.”
