Following what it calls a "recent restructuring into global, channel-specific business units", California-based QSC Audio Products has announced a realignment of its distribution in the UK and Germany, effective 1 November.
While the company’s systems business division, serving the integrated systems sector, will continue to be represented by Shure Distribution, AED Distribution – an AED Group company which has already distributed QSC in Benelux since 1994 – will take over management of QSC’s pro business division, serving the retail, rental/production and portable PA markets.
“Shure’s capability to support our rapidly-expanding integrated systems technology in the region is unparallelled," says QSC's CEO and head its of its systems business unit, Joe Pham. "Their complementary product portfolio, combined with their technical knowledge, vast experience and highly developed sales and marketing functions make them an ideal partner to deliver compelling QSC system solutions to customers in the region."
"This mutually agreed reassignment of responsibilities allows everyone to play to their strengths," adds Marco Weissert, managing director of Shure Distribution GmbH, while Hans Vanderheijden, AED Distribution managing director, adds: “While AED and Shure are distinctive as separate entities, we share one common goal: to promote, enhance and grow the QSC brand to the mutual benefit of all three parties.”
QSC anticipates transitioning its systems business in the Benelux region to Shure at some point in 2015. Both pro and systems customers in those countries will continue to be served by AED Distribution until then.
AED has a long working relationship with QSC, having placed a number of orders for QSC equipment since its initial investment in 2007. Pictured is Piet Verstraete, AED Rent’s audio department manager, following the purchase of 48 KLA Active Line Array elements and 20 KLA181 subwoofers in 2012.
