Seven years after AED group took delivery of its first batch of 216 L-Acoustics KARA full range modular line source cabinets, the pan-European AV company celebrated the arrival of the 1000 KARA cabinet. The gold-covered millennium-KARA will be on display at this year’s Prolight+Sound.

“On the occasion of the Prolight+Sound trade fair, we want to highlight products that are successful either in pro rent or distribution,” explains Filip Van Vlem, AED group international PR and communications manager. “We have invested and grown organically in these brands because we believe in quality and because of their name and fame in the professional AV industry.”

From an early investor back in 2011, AED group has grown to become one of the world’s leading L-Acoustics companies – last year the company was named official K1-partner. The 1000 KARA speaker makes part of L-Acoustics most recent shipment, boosting AED’s KARA inventory for rent and AED Lease to over 1100 cabinets. “The KARA obviously is a long-life product,” continues Van Vlem. “Since day one we continued investing in KARA; the speaker is extremely multifunctional and used both in- and outdoors. In terms of audio quality the “brown boxes”-brand has become the reference.”

Van Vlem reveals that AED Rent invested in a substantial amount of new L-Acoustics SYVA speaker systems.

Also US-based professional audio manufacturer QSC takes the occasion of Frankfurt’s PL&S to award AED Distribution with a ‘golden’ version of their K.2 series K12.2 flagship active loudspeaker. “We were appointed QSC distributor in 2009, and have since then sold over 30,000 K-series speakers in Europe,” enthuses Van Vlem. “And figures go up – from the newest K.2 series range, we sold over 6,000 units Europewide since last year’s launch.” AED Distribution was named QSC Master Distributor for the Benelux, France, Germany and the UK.

AED Group is at hall 4.0, stand D58 at this year's Prolight+Sound.
