AED Group delighted by torch win

AED Group CEO Glenn Roggeman was the winner of an official Olympic relay torch auctioned for charity at Earl’s Court during PLASA 2012.

AED Group CEO Glenn Roggeman (pictured) was the highest bidder in a charity auction held at Earl's Court During PLASA 2012. His prize is an official torch from the London 2012 Olympic relay. "I am proud to contribute to the legacy of the ancient Olympic spirit which has only one goal: to bring humanity together,” he said. “More than ever there is a need for common goals in our industry. The current financial downfalls must be used as opportunities for a global improvement of professionalism, which will ensure a better viability for all of us. Let this torch be the token of our mutual goals and a beacon for a prosperous future in our industry." The torch will be displayed at the AED headquarters' entrance in Willebroek, Belgium. The company was the main supplier of sound, light and video equipment to the various hire companies that delivered a world class AV production for the Olympics and Paralympics this summer.



AED Group HQ hit by fire

Authorities are investigating a huge fire that broke out at AED Group’s Willebroek, Belgium headquarters last Sunday, destroying both the new inventory warehouse and the adjacent AED Cases factory. The cost of the damage has been estimated at €3.5 million euros.
