GERMANY: The event will include a lecture on studio acoustics and a tour of the ADAM Audio factory, writes David Davies. Taking place at ADAM Audio's facility in Berlin on June 4, the workshop will commence with a lecture from Dirk Noy of acoustics and AV design company the Walters Storyk-Design Group (WSDG) on the subject of 'studio acoustics - fundamentals, tips and tools'.

Issues to be covered in the session will include the fundamental principles of acoustics, the specifics of studio acoustics, and interaction between the loudspeaker and the room. Several case studies involving prominent studios will also be presented.

Following the workshop, ADAM Audio's Klaus Heinz will outline the company's design philosophy. The event will conclude with a tour of the ADAM Audio factory (pictured).

The seminar is free of charge, although places are limited. Every application will be individually confirmed. Requests for places on the workshop should be made to Kerstin Mischke, international sales manager at ADAM Audio (sales@adam-audio.com).

"We want people to leave this seminar having taken something new out of it, and saying that they will try to do this or that in their own studio or future work," Mischke tells PSN-e. "WSDG is a great company when it comes to acoustic design, and together with some ADAM speakers we can show the acoustical effect of certain adjustments and changes. And while having interested parties here in house we will take the opportunity to show them the factory. We do not open our doors every day for the public_ The diaphragms are hand-folded and the tweeters hand-made, and we think this could be interesting for the visitors to see."
