What is it?A digital audio workstation suitable for studio and post production work in broadcast and media applications. DetailsThe design concept of Nuendo 5 is said to address the most critical areas of audio post-production: workflow, speed, versatility and reliability. Nuendo 5 provides a range of tools designed to enhance audio post-production workflows in areas such as dubbing, mixing and surround sound. Specially made to adapt audio-to-picture movements, Nuendo features advanced mixing functions such as automatable stem bus routing plus a Clip Packages function which allows users to organise collections of audio clips as a single file to be used at any point in a project. To save studio production time, Nuendo 5 also includes an enhanced Automated Batch Export functionality that allows for the export of multiple files as a single process and expedites audio file exchange with Pro Tools - converting dual-mono tracks into stereo-interleaved files or vice versa. Nuendo’s automation system - introduced in version 4 - has now been extended by tools tailored to the film mixing process. A range of enhanced editing features have been added together with an new scrubbing engine said to offer extremely smooth operation. Seamless support is provided for interfaces and third-party controllers by companies including Euphonix, Smart AV and WK Audio. Nuendo also offers access to vast range of plug-ins including the VST3-based Surround Matrix Encoder/Decoder. The Nuendo 5.1 update adds MXF Audio support, as well as several stability and performance improvements, focusing on AAF import/export, editing functions, the video engine and the MediaBay. The support of MXF Audio further extends Nuendo’s compatibility with industry standards, making the exchange of audio data much faster than before. With MXF, post-production studios and broadcast stations around the globe can share projects easily and without compatibility issues. In addition, Nuendo’s MediaBay has been reworked and now sports faster search capabilities and enhanced preferences.
