DetailsThe F-115B is described as a handheld dynamic microphone, specifically designed for field production and newsgathering in adverse weather conditions. The mic incorporates a newly-developed omni-directional capsule said to offer clear voice pick-up in all directions and a durable metal body capable of withstanding severe conditions in demanding sound pick-up environments. This also means both the microphone and cable are resistant to water – ensuring that no deterioration of internal parts or connections takes place. A special type of rubber fitted at the core of the microphone is designed to reduce shock and vibrations. Frequency response of the F115B is 40Hz – 12kHz at a sensitivity quoted as -54dB +/- 2dB (0dB=1V/Pa at 1kHz). Wind noise is said to be less than 40dB SPL and induction noise from external magnetic fields 5dB or less. The mic has a 1” diameter handle, 2.5” diameter head and is 8” in length. It is supplied with 9.8ft cable fitted with an XLR connector.
