 What is it?A compact, light-weight hard disk recorder for location multi-track recording. DetailsCapable of recording eight tracks on hard disk and either two recording tracks or mirroring on CF card, the SX-R4 features a comprehensive ‘cross-matrix’ system for easy routing and mixing plus user-configurable monitoring. 16-bit or 24-bit recording is possible at 44.1kHz up to 192kHz using .WAV file format with BWF chunk and iXML metadata. A user-friendly interface offers a comprehensive and intuitive menu structure based around an 10-line, 17-character LCD display and joystick controller. The SX-R4 includes four electronically-balanced mic/line inputs via XLR connectors and built-in RF Filter. The low-noise, high-bandwidth microphone preamplifiers provide 48V phantom powering, a low-frequency cut function for use in windy or noisy conditions, and a high-quality limiter on each input. An unbalanced stereo line input is also includedalong with four AES digital inputs (offer eight digital channels) on a 26-pin multiway connector, headphones socket and USB connector. The unit is powered by six internal AA batteries, external 6V - 18V DC battery or external DC supply. The SX-R4 is housed in an aluminium enclosure measuring 180mm x 140mm x 50mm and weighing 800gm without batteries.
