Soho Radio celebrates International Women’s day with week-long female takeover

Everyday this week in the run-up to International Women’s day, from 10am-12pm, on, a female DJ or presenter will take over the channel.

Soho Radio’s station manager, Rachel Bird, told Women Music News: ‘I am the lucky one to have curated the IWD celebrations for Soho Radio this year! Every day this week at 10am – 12pm on our music channel, you can hear one of our amazing roster of female DJs and presenters take over the Morning Glory show, usually hosted by James Endeacott and Raf Rundell.

This will culminate on the official day of March 8 with a fully female day from 6am. You can find the full line up here. In addition, the radio will be hosting a panel discussion at Fora in Borough, with Mary Epworth, Mandy Parnell, Xanthe Fuller and Baby Sol to discuss the prefix of “female” in the industry.

The panel discussion is free to attend, but will be broadcasting live on Soho Radio as well.

Soundway Records will be at Soho Radio all day on March 8, as well as label manager Alice, who has a regular show on Soho Radio as Noricaa.
