What is it?An HD/SDI frame synchroniser card with audio de-embedding, designed as part of Nevion’s Flashlink range of products. DetailsThe Flashlink FRS-HD-DMUX synchronises an HD-SDI or a SD-SDI input to a reference source – either a traditional black and burst signal or tri-level sync. The HD-SDI/SD-SDI output can be adjusted relative to the sync signal and the design includes a built-in de-glitcher to provide error-free synchronous switching. The card can be used to provide an adjustable frame delay (relative to the input SDI signal); embedded audio on SDI is de-embedded by the FRS-HD-DMUX and can be delayed relative to the video. Each audio stereo pair can be swapped through a matrix before being embedded back to SDI – though is also possible to disable the embedder function and keep the SDI stream unaltered. The user parameters of the card can either be changed by switches on the board, or by the control interface GYDA. The FRS-HD-DMUX offers SD/HD frame sync, analogue stereo audio out, AES out (or RS-422 data out in place of AES) plus four SDI outputs. However, Nevion produce three other variants: the FRS-HD-SDI offering SD/HD frame sync with internal audio handling and GPI I/O control plus four SDI outputs; the FRS-HD-SDI-R with SD/HD frame sync and high sensitivity 9/125um single mode optical input, internal audio handling and GPI I/O control plus SDI outputs – and the FRS-HD-DMUX-R which offers SD/HD frame sync with high sensitivity 9/125um single mode optical input, analogue stereo audio out, AES out (or RS-422 data out in place of AES), plus SDI outputs.
