Viacom International Media Networks today announced an app that will allow  music fans to stream the MTV EMAs 2017.

The free mobile app MTV Play will stream the awards from Wembley's SSE Arena on November 12.

The MTV EMAs celebrates some of the biggest artists from around the world and brings music fans a multi-platform experience across MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels and over 300 digital media properties and platforms.

Tom Frazer, vice president of strategy and digital, said: “We’re proud to be launching MTV Play in the UK as we continue to embrace and expand our multiplatform offering, allowing audiences to access our content wherever they are.”

The MTV Play app will host short form clips from key MTV properties including Catfish, Geordie Shore, Teen Mom and Ex on the Beach, as well as MTV News. The app will also live stream the MTV EMAs 2017 red carpet show at 7pm ahead of the main show.

MTV Play is part of Viacom’s suite of mobile applications for its core global brands, giving audiences access to a VOD content library and market-by-market brand exclusives.

“We continue to focus on digital content and think that our coverage of the EMAs this year will be the best yet – both in the run up to the event and live on the night," Jo Wells, VP of digital content at MTV UK.

The MTV EMAs 2017 will broadcast live from London this November across MTV's portfolio of 60 international TV channels and will also air on Channel 5 in the UK, with a three minute delay.
