What is it?
Billed as a short and "exceptionally lightweight" shotgun, the DPA 4017mk2 is said to offer extensive dynamic range as well as "neutral and accurate" characteristics.

Designed for a broad range of applications - including booming in ENG, broadcast and film - the 4017mk2 is a compact shotgun of only 8.3" in length and 70.9g in weight. The supercardioid mic with pre-polarised condenser offers a frequency range (+/-2dB) of 70-20,000Hz, with permanent third order high pass filter at 50Hz. Typical dynamic range of 117dB and max SPL (peak before clipping) of 132dB are among the other elements of the mic's specification. A version with Rycote suspension and windshield solution (pictured), the 4017mk2-R, is also available.
