What is it?
A stereo headset designed for on-air news and sports broadcasting, announcements and interviews.
Said to offer natural, highly intelligible and focused vocal reproduction, the BPHS1 is a closed-cup design capable of high ambient noise attenuation and high output from its 40mm neodymium transducers. Covering a 20Hz – 20kHz range, the 65 ohm ’phones deliver a maximum SPL of 100dB. The headset’s microphone is fitted to a flexible gooseneck boom which swivels for easy positioning on either the left or right-hand side. It offers a cardioid response tailored for pickup of speech with maximum intelligibility across a 40Hz – 20kHz range at 560 ohms impedance. The headset features a cushioned headband and its lightweight (264g) design is said to offer user comfort over long periods of wear. The BPHS1 incorporates a detachable, user-replaceable 3.3m cable with an 8-pin connector at headset end plus a 3-pin XLRM connector and a ¼” jack for the microphone and headphone outputs. The earpads are also replaceable and the headset is supplied with three windscreens and a spare connector screw.
