What is it?
A dynamic, omnidirectional reporter's microphone intended for general ENG use in radio and television.
The response of the D 230 has been tailored for maximum intelligibility of close-up speech - the omnidirectional pickup pattern rendering it immune to proximity effects. Covering a frequency range of 40Hz – 20kHz at a sensitivity of 2.4mV/Pa, the microphone has an integral windscreen and has been designed to produce very low handling noise. An internal hum compensation coil allows for use in environments where AC hum fields may be present and the dark matte finish of the light-weight, die-cast metal body minimises reflection or glare on television. The extra-long shaft also facilitates station flag placement. Recommended load impedance is greater than 1k ohms and the mic' is available with a range of stand adapters and foam windscreens – in addition to its built-in wind screen.
