WORLD CUP 2014: Sennheiser welcomes home German champions18 July 2014
Eight Sennheiser LSP 500 PRO loudspeakers welcomed home the German national football team on 15 July following their 1–0 victory over Argentina in the FIFA World Cup final on the 13th.
The PA system, supplied by Bärlin Team Eventdesign, broadcast the welcome addresses at Berlin Tegel Airport as the players were mobbed by a throng of waiting fans, journalists and airport staff.
According to Sennheiser, four LSP 500 PROs were located on the apron area, with a further four set up on the visitors’ terrace around 500′ away. The signals were transmitted wirelessly via an integrated Sennheiser SR 300 IEM G3 transmitter to EM 300 G3 receivers in the LSP 500 PROs.
Dan Wittke, managing partner of Bärlin Team, says: “The event was a huge success for all those involved.”
Host Broadcast Services (HBS) used wireless and wired Sennheiser microphones from Sennheiser – including its new Esfera surround microphone system – throughout the tournament. Sennheiser UK also partnered with the Professional Footballer’s Association for a World Cup-themed charity dinner on the South Bank in London last month.
