GERMANY: Stage Design is a new _coffee table_ book from German author, photographer and journalist Ralph Larmann that documents 30 productions in the fields of concert touring, opera, theatre, special events and TV shows. The lavishly-presented tome focuses on stage design and realisation in a variety of different disciplines, writes David Davies.

Described by its publishers as _a unique historic document_, Stage Design is dominated by coverage of recent tours and events. Concert tours featured in the book include George Michael_s 25 LIVE, Red Hot Chilli Peppers_ Stadium Arcadium World Tour, Depeche Mode_s Touring the Angel, U2_s Vertigo and the Rolling Stones_ A Bigger Bang (pictured).

Highlighted productions in other disciplines include Verdi_s Turandot (Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen) Queen/Ben Elton musical We Will Rock You (Musical Dome, Cologne), the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest (Helsinki) and the Special Events Opening Ceremony of the 15th Asian Games (Doha).
