UK Post & Services announces name change

test 5 June 2007

UK: Film and broadcast service industry trade body UK Post & Services has revealed that it will henceforth be known as UK Screen Association. The new moniker is intended to reflect several changes in both the organisation and the industry it represents, reports PSN-e.

According to the organisation, the change reflects the broader remit the association took on last year to encompass all services for the film and TV industries, encompassing audio, visual and special effects, DVD, camera, lighting and equipment hire, outside broadcast, studios and post-production. The new name will also be ‘future-proof’ as methods of content delivery to screen continue to evolve.

“This is an exciting time in the history of the association with the widened remit, new name and imminent third birthday celebrations coming up,” said Gaynor Davenport (pictured), chief executive of UK Screen. “While the name may change, the content stays the same, and we will continue to support and promote the commercial interests of all the companies involved at a government and industry level.”
