The small array of Verona

test 25 December 2008

ITALY: A K-Array sound system was provided for Italian singer Elisa’s recent show at the Arena di Verona, writes David Davies. K-Array KH4, KS4 and KH15 units provided surround left, right and back coverage as part of a set-up that also included L-Acoustic v-DOSC equipment.

In addition, one K-Array KR200S and three KH15s provided stage side fill and stage monitoring, respectively. The entire K-Array system fitted into one 3.5 tonne truck.

“The K-Array system is a dream, so compact,” said Mauri Maggi, Elisa’s personal FOH engineer. “The set-up was completed in half the time of systems I have used here in the past. The flexibility of the system including the surround set-up meant that I could easily tailor the sound perfectly for this difficult venue.”

To date, Elisa – whose music encompasses rock, blues, soul and ambient – has released nine albums, the most recent of which (entitled Dancing) was released in July.
