RSS extends M-400 warranty

test 9 December 2008

UK: Roland Systems Group has extended its warranty support for the M-400 V-Mixer digital console, writes David Davies. The move follows a highly positive reaction to the RSS by Roland M-400 system, which was launched in mid-2007.

“We’re very pleased with the way it has been accepted by all of the users,” Roland Systems Group’s Martin Thomas tells PSN-e.

Under the terms of the new arrangement, Roland UK Ltd will now provide a three-year warranty and technical support for any M-400 mixer purchased from an authorised dealer. In addition, all software upgrades for the console will be available free of charge.

In fact, Roland Systems Group has just issued the first software release for the console. Features of the Version 1.5 upgrade include increased flexibility in compressor and gate assignment; the addition of eight matrices; Tap Tempo for delay settings; Direct Channel Output Assignment for increased flexibility when using personal mixing systems and recording splits; more shortcuts for faster access and rapid set-up; and various user interface enhancements.

Martin Thomas, product and field support manager for Roland Systems Group, tells PSN-e: “We’re very happy with the way that the desk has been received and accepted, and [the extended warranty] is really just emphasising the quality of the product. We are confident in giving that warranty because the quality of service and production is very high.”

Meanwhile, the overall response to the M-400 system is said to have exceeded expectations. “We’re very pleased with the way it has been accepted by all of the users, across the pro-audio spectrum and into education as well,” concludes Thomas.
