It has been confirmed that Abbey Road Studios’ instant music service, Live Here Now, will record every date on Robbie Williams’ Swings Both Ways live European arena tour.

The tour kicked off in Budapest on Friday 25 April, with Live Here Now working in partnership with RobbieWilliams.com.

Robbie Williams says: “This Swings Both Ways tour is very different from any previous Robbie Williams tour, and I think it’s going to be very special.”

Exclusive recordings will be made as Williams sings songs from both of his number one albums Swing When You’re Winning and last year’s Swings Both Ways – as well as some other hits from Williams’ career.

CDs will be produced instantly every night and will be available to fans at the concerts just minutes after the performance.

The CDs and high quality downloads will also be available exclusively through RobbieWilliams.com and both can be pre-ordered now.

Head of Live Here Now David Rowntree, says: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with an artist of Robbie Williams’ stature. More and more artists and management are recognising the value of creating new releases from gigs. The service Live Here Now provides is a logical extension of the live music industry’s role as a key revenue stream, with gig-derived product generating sales from core fans, without cannibalising existing retail releases.”

Tim Clark of ie:music, Robbie Williams’ management company, says: “What could be a better memento of an unforgettable evening than a live, unexpurgated recording of a Robbie Williams swing concert? Whether buying a CD on the night or online later we know that fans love this opportunity and Robbie always tries to give them what they want! Abbey Road have all the expertise and the experience to deliver recordings of the highest quality.”

Abbey Road Live Here Now is ‘a cross-industry, instant live recording and distribution service for artists and their fans.”

The team professionally capture the live performance and deliver the audio to the fans on CD, USB or via digital download, either on the night as they leave the venue or via mail order from the artist’s website.

Live Here Now clients include Blur, Depeche Mode, The Orb, The Specials, New Order, Pixies, Slash, Deadmau5, LCD Soundsystem, Goldfrapp, Richard Hawley, Tinie Tempah and Underworld.
