Radial Engineering PZ-DI

What is it? An orchestral DI box designed to work with all types of acoustic instruments.   Details The PZ-DI features a 3-position impedance selector switch with a 220k ohm setting designed to warm up magnetic pickups, a 1M ohm setting to replicate classic DI box designs and a super-high 10M ohm said to eliminate the “squawks and peaks” common to piezo transducers. To eliminate resonance and modulation between instruments, a variable low-cut filter is provided to remove low frequencies and help improve clarity. A hi-cut filter can also be engaged to smooth out the over aggressive top-end produced by many active instruments.   The PZ-DI is capable of operating as a standard direct box with front panel ¼” jack input and thru connectors to interface with an electric bass and stage amplifier – plus XLR out to feed a PA. 48V phantom power is also included with an innovative internal switching supply designed to elevate the rail voltage while reducing distortion of all types to deliver a smooth, natural tone. The PZ-DI incorporates 14-gauge, steel ‘I-beam’ construction to eliminate torque and reduces stress on the PC board while its unique ‘book-end’ design creates protective zones around the controls, switches and connectors.    And another thing… A -15dB pad is also included for use with high-output active bass or digital keyboards.
