PRO SOUND AWARDS: A&H, Celestion, Meyer Sound are new trio of sponsors11 September 2014
Allen & Heath, Celestion and Meyer Sound have all been confirmed as supporters for the forthcoming Pro Sound Awards, to be held in two weeks’ time at London’s Ministry of Sound.
Mixer developer A&H will sponsor the Live/Touring Sound category; self-powered speaker specialist Meyer Sound is backing the after-show party; and loudspeaker component maker Celestion has put its name in the frame for the popular photo-booth. Nordoff Robbins has been confirmed as charity partner for the evening.
“Allen & Heath is delighted to get behind the Live category of the Pro Sound Awards,” says Glenn Rogers, managing director, Allen & Heath. “Dealing with the rigours and unpredictability of the live environment and still delivering superb sound for the artists and audience has to be one of the most thrilling and challenging aspects of pro audio. Allen & Heath has been creating mixers for live sound for the last 45 years and with each new design we’re always seeking to create the ultimate live mixing experience.”
This year, 2014, marks Celestion’s 90th year in the business of designing and manufacturing world-leading loudspeakers.
“All year we’ve been celebrating with special events and product introductions, and it seemed the perfect time for us to sponsor a significant UK-based event like the Pro Sound Awards,” says marketing/artist relations manager John Paice. “We wholeheartedly support its purpose of paying tribute to the spirit of endeavour and enterprise in a professional audio industry that we’ve been proud to be a part of for nine decades.”
“This year’s Pro Sound Awards is a special one as we’ll see our long-time colleague John Pellowe receiving a very well deserved recognition for his remarkable career,” says Jodi Hughes, director of marketing, Meyer Sound. “We look forward to a great evening of celebration, and wish the nominees the best of luck.”
Nordoff Robbins is a national charity which uses music to transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable and isolated people in our communities. Through music therapy, NR helps people with a range of challenges including autism, dementia, depression, physical and learning disabilities or life-threatening and terminal illnesses.
“We are delighted to announce once again that we have been chosen as the charity partner for the Pro Sound Awards,” says Jo Carter, director of fundraising and communications. “It’s great to be a part of such a fantastic event that unites so many different people across music and rewards some of the extremely talented people who work behind the scenes. As a charity that transforms lives through music we truly appreciate the support of such a well-regarded institution within the industry.”
The second Pro Sound Awards, to be held at the world-famous Ministry of Sound nightclub on 25 September, encompasses the wide spectrum of pro audio, recognising excellence in the four sectors of installed, studio, broadcast and live/touring sound, along with four special awards for Rising Star, Marketing Initiative of the Year, Grand Prix and Lifetime Achievement. A full list of finalists is available here.
Amplifier technology developer Lab.gruppen, part of the TC Group of companies, was recently confirmed as the co-headline sponsor, sharing the spotlight with headphone/microphone giant Sennheiser. Martin Audio is sponsoring the reception drinks at the event, and Sony is once again supporting awards in the broadcast audio category.
