Prism Sound, SADiE, PMC sponsoring GRAMMY Week event

test 26 January 2010

The companies are sponsoring The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing’s third annual GRAMMY Week event, reports David Davies. Scheduled to take place tomorrow (January 27) – shortly before the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards is held on January 31 – the gathering honours excellence in music and audio production.

The achievements of Island Records and its founder Chris Blackwell be celebrated by the P&E Wing during the event, which has been entitled Catch a Fire after the title of the first album by legendary Island artist Bob Marley. The classic 1973 long-player is being inducted this year into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame.

The P&E Wing event will take place at the Village Recording Studios in West LA, with Prism Sound and PMC displaying their latest products in Studio D. Prism Sound will show items including the ADA8-XR converter and Orpheus Computer FireWire interface, while PMC will present its new DB1S-A and (pictured) TB2S-A MK11 near-field monitors, as well as a preview of the forthcoming AML2 mid-field monitor.

Keith Tonge, marketing manager for PMC, tells PSN-e that the company is "delighted to have been invited to sponsor the Grammys Week P&E Wing event and regard it as quite an honour to have been asked. It will give us an opportunity to rub shoulders with our current clients as well as introduce new ones to the world of the ultimate high resolution monitoring and all its benefits. We have positioned ourselves at the pinnacle of audio monitoring and therefore attracted clients who will not accept compromise, making us the ideal partner for the P&E, who are certainly at the pinnacle of their game. We hope this will be the first event of many and we look forward to further collaborations in the near future."

"We were very pleased to be invited to partner with PMC in sponsoring this event with the P&E Wing of The Recording Academy during GRAMMY Week," said Prism Sound director Graham Boswell. "The success of our well-attended ‘Mic to Monitor’ and ‘Mastering Mastering’ tours in the United States during 2009 and ultimately our sponsorship of this event reflect the massive changes taking place in the music recording industry where producers and engineers now work independently, much of the time on their own desktop. Prism Sound, SADiE and PMC products are the perfect combination for music recording and production in 2010. We congratulate all of the nominees and wish them the best of luck in the GRAMMY Awards."
