Prince FOH Chicky Reeves back for more at PSNPresents17 February 2015
Charles “Chicky” Reeves, who surprised guests with tales of life on the road with Grace Jones and Prince during the Pre-Roll section of the Pro Sound Awards last September, is back to appear on the live sound panel at the inaugural PSNPresents event on March 12th.
Chicky will be joining Massive Attack’s Robb Allan on a panel to discuss the highs and lows of working in the live sound scene. (Further panelists are still to be announced.) “Really, I’m very pleased to taking part in this!” enthuses Chicky. “To think – someone is crazy enough to put a mic in front of me… It’s like giving a termite a chainsaw!”
Charles “Chicky” Reeves is a producer, recording and mastering engineer but more recently has found himself called upon for live sound mixing duties. His studio, Sublime Studios, is located in north London, England, where he focuses on committing electronica to tape. His compositions in the realm of ‘library music’ (published by Extreme Music) can be heard on several popular TV shows around the world, and he is currently working on a new songwriting project with his wife, under the moniker of ‘Chicky and Coco’ (chickyandcoco.com).
While the live sound panel represents the second half of the evening’s entertainment, the first half of will find Bafta-nominated Scott Talbott, craft manager at BBC Studios and Post Production, Strictly Come Dancing sound supervisor Andy Tapley and the National Theatre’s head of sound and video Jonathan Suffolk in a lively Q&A session about the challenges of live sound in the broadcast and theatre environmemns.

Focusrite was recently announced as the first event sponsor (see Focusrite confirmed as PSNPresents… sponsor), with more to be confirmed soon.
PSNPresents will take place at the Ham Yard Hotel, London, on Thursday 12 March from 6.45pm with a 7.30pm start. Tickets are free.
A variety of sponsorship packages are available for the event. Contact Ryan O’Donnell (firstname.lastname@example.org), Darrell Carter (email@example.com) or Rian Zoll-Khan (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
