PLASA Show 2010: “marked increase” in audio companies expected

test 26 January 2010

UK: Plans for the exhibition are gearing up with news of a free visitor registration period lasting until February 11, writes David Davies. Registration is open now at the dedicated PLASA Show website (link below), with the event itself due to take place at Earls Court, London, from 12-15 September.

PLASA events manager Sophie Atkinson said that last year’s free registration offer "helped boost exhibitors’ confidence in the show’s compelling drawing power by attracting thousands of early registrations, while the show itself beat the best expectations of both exhibitors and visitors. With PLASA Focus: Leeds 2010 [taking place at the Royal Armouries Leeds on April 27/28] also now sold out, PLASA Events’ policy of reinvestment in the industry is delivering exactly the business opportunities that exhibitors demand in these competitive conditions."

Audio companies who have already contracted to exhibit at PLASA Show 2010 include POLARaudio, Sennheiser, HK Audio, Allen & Heath, Harman International, RCF, dB Technologies, LMC Audio, Lab.gruppen, Funktion-One, KV2 Audio, Yamaha, Adamson, Midas/Klark-Teknik, Duran Audio, Amber Sound, Kling & Freitag, Ohm UK and Red Square Audio.

Speaking to PSN-e, Atkinson noted that the healthy total of rebookings reflected the "overwhelmingly positive response we received from the audio sector at the show last year. A large percentage of previous exhibitors have already been allocated onto stands, and visitors to PLASA 2010 should see a marked increase in the number of audio companies and products. We’re also encouraged by the fact that audio companies are increasing their stand space this year: we’ve had notable increases from NEXO, who have doubled their stand space, and Adam Hall, who returned to the show in 2009 after a one-year absence."
