Outlined specified for Tehran venue

IRAN: Outline mini-COM.P.A.S.S. arrays have been installed at the Azadi Theatre’s new concert hall, writes David Davies. A total of 14 enclosures have been been fitted in the new concert hall at Tehran’s Azadi Theatre as part of a ten-month acoustical treatment and installation process.

The ability of the Outline equipment to enable great directivity of sound and to help avoid audio reflections were among the reasons for its specification.

The 14 mini-COM.P.A.S.S. arrays are complemented with four LAB 15 SP ultra-compact subwoofers. Four multi-purpose DVS 10 enclosures (for under-balcony use) and two DVS 12s (front-fill) have also been installed, and are powered by Outline T44 amplifiers.

The project was managed by Masood Roostaei, with support from sound engineer Moghadam. The equipment was supplied by Outline’s exclusive distributor for Iran, Hashemi Trading Design and Installation.

Outline adds that Hashemi Trading is currently working on three other new theatre developments, all of which are set to feature the manufacturer’s equipment.

With regard to the wider Middle Eastern market, Outline’s Michele Noselli tells PSN-e that the company is performing well throughout the region. “We’ve significant back-orders to be fulfilled by the end of 2008,” she reveals. “This is [particularly the case] in Lebanon, Iran, UAE, Oman and Jordan, and related to a wide variety of fixed installations – from shopping malls to nightclubs, theatres, concert halls and cinemas (depending on the countries).”
