New venture for former Xtreme AV man

UK: Craig Wiggins has established a new company, MRL Productions, reports David Davies. Having previously run installation-oriented Xtreme Audio Visual, Wiggins has partnered with Essex Sound & Light’s Mike Glover to establish the new company, which will specialise in providing a complete technical service – encompassing sound, lighting, video and staging – to the corporate event, theatre, fashion show and concert sectors.

The company – which has already provided sound and lighting for a number of corporate functions at newly-opened UK racecourse Great Leighs – has established an extensive hire-fleet that includes KV2 and Electro-Voice loudspeakers; consoles from Midas, Allen & Heath and Yamaha; Klark Teknik processors, and Sennheiser radio microphones. MRL Productions also possesses equipment from Martin Professional, Panasonic, Sanyo, Kramer, Avolites and many other high-profile manufacturers.

“Our long-term objective for MRL Productions is to be the first choice for companies wanting a ‘one stop shop’ for all their face-to-face events, whether it be an annual AGM or a product launch to their clients,” Craig Wiggins, pictured here to the right of Mike Glover, tells PSN-e. “We can supply from stock sound, lighting, AV staging and also custom stage sets, and with a dedicated team of technicians and designers we can respond quickly to clients’ requests. Along with a nice selection of venues that use us as their preferred AV supplier, we have a good steady flow of work already.”

MRL Productions is hoping to add a further sound system to its inventory during the next 12 months that will enable it to handle larger concerts. “It will still need to be modular enough for our conference needs as well,” notes Wiggins.
