The show kicks off at the Anaheim Convention Center from January 19-22 with a number of new products on show…

Allen & Heath has revealed that the dLive C Class – a new compact range of surfaces and mixracks which opens up its dLive platform to a wider spectrum of AV, installation and live event roles – will be debuted at NAMM 2017.

There are three new MixRacks in the series – CDM32, CDM48 and CDM64, plus three new control Surfaces, the 19” rack mountable C1500, C2500 and twin screen C3500 (pictured below). The MixRacks house the XCVI Core, providing capacity for 128 inputs with full processing and 16 dedicated stereo FX returns, plus a fully configurable 64 mix bus architecture, with full processing on all mix channels.

allen & heathEach surface and rack has a 128 channel I/O port, supported by a wide array of networking cards, including Dante, Waves, MADI and fibreACE optical. dLive C Class is also compatible with S Class hardware, and the ME personal mixing system and supported by a full ecosystem of apps, Director software and accessories.

New from interface specialist Antelope Audio is a Synergy Bundle for its Thunderbolt and USB interfaces. Each interface now comes packaged with a special Antelope Audio version of the PreSonus Studio One 3 Artist DAW platform, as well as six plug-ins from Overloud Audio for use in cross-platform DAW software. Adding these digital tools from PreSonus and Overloud Audio to the Antelope Audio ecosystem helps turn these interfaces into a comprehensive music production and creation package, it is said.

beyerbeyerdynamic will be unveiling the TG 500 system, which is available in five sets, each of which contains an individual receiver and two removable antennas. The TG 550 Vocal Set is supplied with the TG 500H-D handheld transmitter with a TG V50 capsule (dynamic capsule, cardioid) and is perfect for singing, whereas the TG 556 Vocal Set comes with a TG 500H-C handheld transmitter with a TG V56 capsule (condenser capsule, cardioid), making it the perfect solution for presentations. There are matching microphone clamps for both handheld transmitters. The TG L58 clip-on microphone (condenser, omnidirectional) from the TG 558 Presenter Set can be worn in an inconspicuous position during lectures, while the TG 534 Headworn Set with a TG H34 neckworn microphone (condenser, supercardioid) is the choice for theatre productions. Electric and bass guitars can be miked using the WA-CGI instrument cable (6.35 mm mono jack), which is part of the TG 510 Instrument Set.

The system has an operating range of up to 120m and the switching bandwidth is up to 40 MHz, and when all four frequency bands (518–548 MHz, 606–636 MHz, 794–832 MHz and 1.780–1.810 MHz) are used, up to 72 channels (18 compatible frequencies per band) can be operated simultaneously.

On a business level, Blue Microphones will be highlighting its partnership with JMP Electronics, intended to further strengthen the Summit Audio brand. After acquiring Summit Audio four years ago, Blue has worked to finalise new products, energise distribution channels, and get popular products back into production. Now, as part of Blue’s long-term vision for Summit, JMP Electronics will manage customer and dealer relations and provide support for products, warranties and other service requests.

“We are proud of the Summit Audio brand and are excited to see it continue to grow and evolve,” says John Maier, CEO of Blue Microphones. “JMP Electronics has a pedigree in pro-audio that includes some of the most prestigious brands, so they are the perfect partner to manage Summit. Together, we look forward to providing complete support for customers and dealers, as well as products that meet the needs of discerning audio professionals.”

Crane Song has announced that their entire line of digital hardware products has been updated to take advantage of their proprietary fifth generation digital to analogue converter technology. In its first showing at NAMM, the Egret 8 Channel D/A Converter / Summing Mixer joins the Avocet monitor controller, the HEDD 192 AD/DA converter, and Solaris standalone digital to analogue converter to complete the line up of Crane Song products equipped with Crane Song’s Quantum DAC.

The Quantum DAC uses a 32-bit converter and asynchronous sample rate conversion for jitter reduction with up sampling to 211 KHz. The reference clock uses a proprietary reconstruction filter for accurate time domain response.

Egret is a highly flexible digital audio workstation back end. It contains eight channels of high quality Quantum D/A converters and a stereo line level mixer with colour options to help bring analog summed digital mixes to life. Each channel of the stereo mixer has a level control, an aux send (which is post level control), a colour control and a pan control.

DASIn advance of the show D.A.S. revealed details of two new products. The Ovi 12 (pictured) is a two-way loudspeaker system designed for optimum versatility – it can be mounted on walls, placed in ceiling structures, or suspended as a pendant speaker, making it suitable for a variety of AV installation projects. A 12-inch coaxial loudspeaker enables it to deliver excellent speech intelligibility and rich music reproduction in spaces such as restaurants, convention centres, houses of worship and nightclubs. Key attributes include 300 RMS (average) power handling, a peak power handling rating of 1200W, and a 90-degree conical beamwidth.

Also new from D.A.S. is the Sound Force SF-158, a three-way, full-range system which joins the Sound Force series of systems. The SF-158 expands the applications covered by the Sound Force to include a high-power, stand-alone system capable of providing coverage to any areas where high energy dance music is required. For the high impact, low frequency reproduction required in a system of this type, D.A.S. employs the 15GNR loudspeaker, a 15² device incorporating a 102 mm (4²) edge-wound voice coil, and a lightweight neodymium magnet assembly.

DiGiGrid MDiGiGrid will showcase its full range of desktop interfaces, including demonstrations working alongside their Pro Rackmount Range. The DiGiGrid desktop range includes the Musician recording interface (pictured), Headphone amplifier, Desktop interface, and PoE Switch. The Rackmount Range provides flexible high channel count interfacing and real-time DSP for plugin processing, enabling more efficient and fluid creative workflows.

“We’re excited to return NAMM to showcase the full range of DiGiGrid products, particularly the demonstrations of our Desktop. This, alongside the offer of a free WAVES “One Knob” plug in will appeal to visitors at the show as it combines the latest in technologies with multiple creative opportunities. The continued strong momentum and worldwide demand for the range across leading studios and facilities has been phenomenal and we look forward to seeing everyone at the show,” says Dan Page, DiGiGrid.
