Meyer Sound to receive Grand Prix honour at 2017 Pro Sound Awards13 September 2017
It is with great excitement that Pro Sound News Europe can reveal that US loudspeaker giant Meyer Sound will be the recipient of the coveted Grand Prix honour at the 2017 Pro Sound Awards, in association with Miloco Studios.
Celebrating 50 years since co-founders John and Helen Meyer met in the ‘Summer of Love’, Meyer Sound has long been one of the most revered and recognisable brands in the sound reinforcement market, appearing at major live events the world over.
Speaking to PSNEurope about their award win, company Helen said: “Thank you so much. This is an incredible honour and we are very proud to be accepting this. This has been an incredible year for us – celebrating the 50 years that we’ve been together, and this has been the high point for us. This means everything to us.”
John also pointed toward some of the company’s most recent launches as examples of its on-going drive to innovate and push the boundaries of sound reinforcement technology:
“We are very excited with the release of Lina – a small, very high tech compact line array system and our Blue Horn project, which is a monitoring system both for movies and music mixing, which is the first truly phase linear system ever produced,” he told PSNEurope.
Meyer Sound will be presented with the Grand Prix Award at this year’s fifth annual Pro Sound Awards, which take place at a brand new venue – London’s Steel Yard – on September 28.
Earlier this month, we revealed that Funktion-One founder Tony Andrews will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, with the rest of the event’s winners to be announced on the night.
Now in its fifth year, the Pro Sound Awards is the biggest pro audio awards bash on the industry calendar, recognising the finest companies, individuals and achievements from across all four corners of the market. As well as celebrating the best the biz has to offer, the event also provides unparalleled networking opportunities, bringing together top industry professionals and executives under one roof.
Last month, we unveiled the shortlist list for this year’s Rising Star Award, with the winner chosen by PSNEurope sister publication Audio Media International and revealed on the night.
