Master Audio Xcellence X-210

Nigel Lord 10 August 2010

What is it?A compact, scalable line array system designed for concert halls, stadiums and open-air live events. DetailsOffering 120º nominal horizontal coverage, X-210 is suitable for crowds of up to 5,000 people with a 6-8 unit configuration by column. The system’s acoustic design is based around a proprietary planar waveguide said to guarantee uniform coverage and long-distance high-frequency reproduction. One X210A active unit provides the amplification and DSP control to feed an additional X210P passive slave unit, producing up to 3kW of power from class D amplification. Each unit houses two 10” Neodymium woofers and three 1” Neodymium drivers plus a planar waveguide. The system offers two options for bass reinforcement: the compact X215W active subwoofer with two 15” long-excursion woofers delivering 2.4kW and the X218W with dual 18” long-excursion woofers, 2.4kW class D output, onboard DSP, cardioid configuration and Ethernet connectivity. System DSP is controlled via “user-friendly” software interface, allowing it to be tuned to the needs of every application by changing audio parameters such as EQ, gain, limiter threshold, delay and phase. Programming is carried out using a PC via Ethernet (RJ-45 or Wi-Fi) and Master Audio’s DSPStudio software which allows engineers to check the status of the whole system in real time. A range of optimised factory presets are available together with up to 16 user presets. The system is fully protected against mains voltage overload and incorporates a standby mode, reducing power consumption while not in use.
