London studio introduces live music website

test 21 April 2009

UK: North London recording studio and live music venue The Suite has launched a new web service, writes David Davies. As a result of the new initiative, music fans can watch musicians write, rehearse, record and perform intimate gigs. There is also the opportunity to purchase exclusive recordings and merchandise in the (chart-registered) Suite Shop.

Artists to have worked at The Suite during the last year include Emit Bloch and DMT. The Mighty Boosh also used the facility for rehearsing and recording prior to its 2008 tour.

Equipment in The Suite’s control room includes a Mackie Analog 32-channel desk, a Digidesign 003 Rack, Genelec 8040A monitors, beyerdynamic headphones and an MTR headphone amplifier. Items in the live room include microphones from Neumann, Microtech Gefell, Shure and AKG, along with a Mackie PA and a Yamaha live mix console.

Founder Andrew Maurice tells PSN-e: "I moved in to this legendary space in early ’07 with the intention of developing a publishing catalogue, and since then have created a live venue, a pro recording studio used by all sorts of clients, a writing suite and a 24/7 high quality internet broadcast experience from www.liveatthesuite.com."
