Linear Acoustic joins the Telos Group24 April 2007
US: Linear Acoustic, best known for its solutions for the distribution and processing of multichannel TV sound, has become the fourth member of high-technology partnership the Telos Group. The terms of the deal – which was announced at NAB2007 – mean that Linear Acoustic will retain its operational structure and function as an independent subsidiary, reports David Davies.
The company – the designer and manufacturer of the AEROMAX-TV, StreamStacker, UpMAX and AutoNorm technologies – is the latest addition to the Telos Group, which also includes professional network audio specialist Axia, broadcast audio processing supplier Omnia and Telos.
“We have spent five years developing successful digital audio processors and infrastructure products for the international television community,” said Carroll, pictured (left) with Omnia president Frank Foti. “There are clear and exciting synergies with what we are doing and their capabilities.”
Speaking to PSN-e, Carroll adds that “it really is too early to reveal anything about our future plans. But please stay tuned for news of some interesting developments in the works for leading-edge multi-channel audio processing and infrastructure products.”
Frank Foti commented: “Tim and I have known each other for a number of years, and we respect his company’s work. We look forward with eager anticipation to the opportunities offered by our new partnership. Stay tuned for the future of TV audio.”
Linear Acoustic’s existing product range include the OCTiMAX 5.1 digital television audio processor, the StreamStacker-HD high density audio distribution system and AMAS (Audio Metadata Analysis System).
