Adlib Audio has supplied a Soundcraft Si Expression 2 mixing console to Leeds University Union.

The console has been acquired in response to the union’s growing hire business.

Leeds University Union operates three live rooms, the 1200-capacity main Stylus as well as subsidiary Mine and Pulse (with respective capacities of 450 and 350).

Technical manager Sam Ryder says: “Our technical hire division rents out equipment to commercial enterprise. I considered the options but knew the Si Expression 2 would give us a compact desk with a lot of outputs, and an intuitive interface that anyone can operate. It’s also extremely quick to set up and programme.”

“This means we can use the Expression for our own shows in the second or third room, for example on acoustic nights, or with a DJ who has a more complex monitor set-up,” he adds.

“The desk is incredibly functional and well priced … and it all just works!” concludes Ryder.
