LD Systems D1020

Nigel Lord 2 February 2011

What is it?A dynamic vocal microphone suitable for live use. DetailsAccording to LD, the D1020 boasts a “precise and powerful sound” with the capacity to elevate vocals above the rest of the band and help spare the singer’s voice. An effective capsule shock-mount renders the microphone insensitive to handling noise while its hyper-cardioid polar pattern is said to provide optimal feedback cancellation in stage applications. A special coating has been applied to the PM12 making it more comfortable to hold and the body is equipped with a low-noise on/off switch. The frequency range of the D1020 is quoted at 50Hz – 16kHz with a maximum SPL rating of 145dB (at 1 kHz < 1% THD). The mic presents a load impedance of 370 ohms and connects via a standard 3-pin XLR. It is supplied with a bag, clamp and 3/8” to 5/8” adapter.
