Lake Controller Version 63 April 2012
What is it? The latest version of Lake’s Controller software including Windows 7 optimisation and improved performance for large system networks. Details In addition to general enhancements, Version 6 offers full integration with both Smaart 7 and WaveCapture’s Live-Capture, allowing measurement traces from either platform to be shown directly within Lake Controller and enabling user configuration and system tuning in real-time. Live-Capture has been supported since Version 5 of Lake Controller but filters can now be defined and transferred directly to any networked Lake device. In addition, several measurements can now be captured and averaged with a defined target response, allowing the optimiser to find ideal filter placements through which to achieve that target. Using Version 6 software it’s possible to transfer these filter parameters to the desired module or group overlay on the Lake devices. For example, Live-Capture Pro can find optimal EQ-parameters to voice a sound reinforcement system towards a target response. The Room-mode analyser is integrated with the optimiser and can generate filters to cure room resonances. Though legacy hardware products are no longer supported with Version 6, Lake has announced the release of a secondary update which will mark a continued – but separate – path for those wishing to continue utilising legacy hardware. And another thing… Lake Controller v6 will include support for the forthcoming Yamaha MY8-LAKE card, bringing Lake Processing to Yamaha’s line of digital audio mixing desks.
